In October, the series of events organized bythe Franco Parenti Theaterin collaboration with our foundation resumes. On Friday, October 20, Gabriella Caramore will discuss her new book, “L’età grande. Riflessioni sulla vecchiaia” (Garzanti Libri).
The“La Grande Età”series, created in collaboration with theFranco Parenti Theater, returns on Friday, October 20, with a discussion featuringGabriella Caramore, the longtime writer for the Rai Radio 3 program“Uomini e Profeti”(1993–2018).
His new book, *L’età grande. Riflessioni sulla vecchiaia* (*Adulthood: Reflections on Old Age*), opens up uncharted landscapes before us, responding to the need to cast our gaze into the crevices of time and to listen to “our own flesh and our own feelings.”
“In this book, I have tried to express many of the anxieties of the stage of life I am currently experiencing, caught in a powerful tension between sincerity and modesty. I have tried not to sidestep the difficulties one encounters at this stage of life, nor to flee from that unthinkable ‘opaque wall’ that stands at the end of every human existence. It wasn’t easy. And I am aware that these thoughts of mine—full of doubts and uncertainties, twists and turns, melancholy and bursts of passion—are nothing more than provisional notes on the theme of life coming to an end.”
