The Alliance for the Golden Years stems fromthe Ravasi Garzanti Foundation’scommitment to building a new urban welfare system dedicated to longevity. It is a civic and generative pact that goes beyond a simple welfare program, transforming vulnerability and needs into opportunities for community, solidarity, and social innovation.

Culture

A New Perspective on Longevity

Our Approach to Culture

TheCulture Section of the Ravasi Garzanti Foundation is a space where creativity, participation and well-being come together. Culture captures the complexity of the ongoing demographic transformation: theater, cinema, museums, dance halls can serve as examples—not as lessons or models, but as expressions of everyday life.

Old Age

Theater

The name “The Great Age” comes from the vision of Andrée Ruth Shammah, artistic director of the Teatro Franco Parenti, to bestow dignity, energy, and value upon the third age. It is an invitation to move beyond the notion of old age as decline and to recognize it as a time of flourishing, rich in experience, creativity, and engagement.

The program celebrates the vitality of old age, of people, and of the younger generations through multidisciplinary projects: workshops, performances, concerts, meetings and co-creation initiatives.

Movies

In 2023 a film festival dedicated to longevity, organized in collaboration with the Corriere della Sera Foundation. A project that uses the language of cinema to explore longevity as an opportunity for reflection, dialogue, and new perspectives on living together.

Each film is accompanied by discussions—such as the Café Philosophique—with experts, artists, and institutions, to encourage reflection and intergenerational exchange.

Cultural Compasses

Diverse and interdisciplinary projects that bring together culture, welfare and active participation, by fostering people’s creativity and experience at every stage of life.

From art workshops to intergenerational programs, from documentaries to museum activities dedicated to Alzheimer's, each initiative sparks curiosityand promotes well-being , and creates connections between generations and communities, transforming culture into a tool for social cohesion and shared growth.

A constantly evolving scene: explore the active trails, take part in the workshops, attend the events, and let yourself be inspired by the new ways of creating culture together.

Where Culture Comes to Life

Culture is not limited to events: it lives on in the words, stories, and content we share. In-depth articles, voices, and narratives accompany and enrich our projects, opening up new avenues for reflection on longevity and care.
