Overdance Comes to Milan

Following its premiere in Paris, the dance production*Overdance*—acollaboration with the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza/Aterballetto and directed by two internationally renowned choreographers,featuring a cast ofolderdancerswill come to MilaninDecember.


TheOverdanceproject bythe Fondazione Nazionale della Danza/Aterballetto inReggio Emilia stems from the realization that the revolution in creative processes—accelerated by the pandemic—compels the world of dance to choose between turning inward or opening up to unconventional channels of expression andnew models of engagement with society, the public, and, ultimately, colleagues. These new relational networks underpin new creative processes, integrated with community initiatives, reinforcing the awareness of the central role of cultural welfare in the society of the future.

In 2022, the collaborative project began with the creation of adance performance, directed by two internationally renowned choreographers, featuring a cast of dancers over. Productionof theshow—divided into two parts, *Un jour nouveau* and*Birthday Party*—began in the summer of 2022 with the hiring of the two choreographers (Rachid Ourandame and Angelin Preljocaj) and continued in the fall with the selection of candidates.

Following its premiere at the Chaillot Théâtre in Paris on February 15, 2023, the show made its Italian debut in Bologna at the Arena del Sole on March 12 and will be performed in Milan on December 5 and 6, 2023, at the Teatro Franco Parenti.
